Services for John Griffith, of Prentiss, will be held at 10:30a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Prentiss Presbyterian Church withburial in Brady Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. atthe funeral home.

Mr. Griffith, 70, died Jan. 5, 2008, at Forrest GeneralHospital. A native of Centerville, he was the son of Ludwig HansonGriffith and Harriet King Griffith.

He was a member of Prentiss Presbyterian Church, where he servedas an elder and as Sunday school superintendent. He was retiredfrom his job as maintenance supervisor with Georgia-Pacific PaperCo., and had owned Griffith Supply Co. in Prentiss for 10 years. Hewas recently elected to the Board of Supervisors of Jefferson DavisCounty. He was a member of The Gideons International and served onthe board of Lily Rose Water Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Ann Griffith, of Prentiss; his son, MarkGriffith and wife Nita, of Prentiss; his daughters, SuzyFortenberry and husband David, of Prentiss, Donna Herndon andhusband Mike, of Brooklyn, and Stacy Stogner and husband Jonathan,of Sumrall; his sisters, Carolyn White, of Brookhaven and ConnieElzey, of Tylertown; and his 11 grandchildren and onegreat-grandchild.
