J. C. ‘Jack’ Ainsworth Jr.
Services for J. C. “Jack” Ainsworth Jr., of Bogue Chitto, were10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Riverwood Family Funeral Services Chapelwith burial in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville at 2 p.m.
Mr. Ainsworth, 58, died Jan. 3, 2008, at his residence. He wasborn on Sept. 17, 1949, to J.C. Ainsworth Sr. and Daisy JohnsonAinsworth.
He was an attorney. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed huntingand golf.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and his brother, JamesOtis Ainsworth.
Survivors are his daughter, Parker Ann Ainsworth, of BogueChitto; his brother, Michael T. Ainsworth, of Taylorsville; hissisters, Dr. Patricia Ainsworth and husband, Dr. Richard Waddle,and Martha Brooks Ainsworth and husband, Gary Spergeon, all ofBrandon; his nieces, Jill Neth and Alice McLendon; his nephew, OwenWeddle; and Tracy Ainsworth, mother of Parker Ann Ainsworth.
Pallbearers were Victor Hackney, Fred Shows, Brady Kellums, JoeFernald, Dave Pace and Owen Weddle. Honorary pallbearer was SamWaggoner.

John Griffith
Services for John Griffith, of Prentiss, will be held at 10:30a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Prentiss Presbyterian Church withburial in Brady Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. atthe funeral home.
Mr. Griffith, 70, died Jan. 5, 2008, at Forrest GeneralHospital. A native of Centerville, he was the son of Ludwig HansonGriffith and Harriet King Griffith.
He was a member of Prentiss Presbyterian Church, where he servedas an elder and as Sunday school superintendent. He was retiredfrom his job as maintenance supervisor with Georgia-Pacific PaperCo., and had owned Griffith Supply Co. in Prentiss for 10 years. Hewas recently elected to the Board of Supervisors of Jefferson DavisCounty. He was a member of The Gideons International and served onthe board of Lily Rose Water Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Ann Griffith, of Prentiss; his son, MarkGriffith and wife Nita, of Prentiss; his daughters, SuzyFortenberry and husband David, of Prentiss, Donna Herndon andhusband Mike, of Brooklyn, and Stacy Stogner and husband Jonathan,of Sumrall; his sisters, Carolyn White, of Brookhaven and ConnieElzey, of Tylertown; and his 11 grandchildren and onegreat-grandchild.

Dykes Lee James
Services for Dykes Lee James, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.Monday, Jan. 7, at First Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burialin Newell Cemetery in Brookhaven.
Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive was in charge ofarrangements.
Mr. James, 79, died Jan. 4, 2008, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on Jan. 30, 1928, to J.H. James and ParaleeNewell James.
He was a lifelong resident of the Old Red Star community andgraduated from Loyd Star High School. He was a self-employed dairyfarmer for 38 years and served as a board member for DairymenIncorporated and the Lincoln Rural Water Association. He was alsoon the board of Southwest Electric Power Association for 34years.
His many years of faithful service to his church and communitywere recognized when he and his wife were honored as Unsung Heroesin The DAILY LEADER in 1994. He was a member of First BaptistChurch where he served as a deacon, a member of the sanctuarychoir, and the Cecil Rhodes Sunday School Class.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, J.H.James Jr. and Billie Earl James; and a great-grandson, JoshuaCooper Smith.
Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Helen Watts James, ofBrookhaven; his daughters, Linda Kay Smith and husband Sammy, ofBrookhaven, Sondra James, of Pearl, and Patsy Parker and husbandGeorge, of Brookhaven; his grandchildren, Sonya Anders and husbandDel, Shane Smith and wife Robyn, Ryan Parker and wife Amy, andOliva Watts and husband Josh; his great-grandchildren, Lane, Molly,and Melinda Anders, and Leigh-Taylor and Jon Tyler Smith; hisbrother, Glynn James and wife Juanita; and numerous nieces,nephews, and friends.
