Mid-South Jr. High results

WESSON — The Mid-South Junior High Basketball Tournament kickedoff Saturday at the Wesson High School Gym.

In first round games, the Loyd Star girls beat Salem 38-19, theTopeka-Tilton girls nipped Bogue Chitto 25-23, the NatchezCathedral boys knocked off New Hebron 39-=33, the Salem boys dumpedBogue Chitto 44-35, the Enterprise girls stopped New Hebron 39-25,the Wesson girls crushed West Lincoln, 37-16, the Wesson boysstopped West Lincoln 33-24 and the Dexter boys whipped Enterprise44-13.

In today’s semifinals, the Loyd Star girls meet Topeka at 4p.m., the Wesson girls face Enterprise at 5:15, the Cathedral boystangle with Salem at 6:30 and the Wesson boys battle Dexter at7:45.

The championship games will be held Thursday night. The girlsplay at 5 p.m. followed by the boys at 6:15.

Loyd Star 38, Salem 19

Courtney Watts led the Lady Star girls with 14 points. TyrishaPatterson followed with 10.

Salem got 13 points from Salem.

Topeka-Tilton 25, Bogue Chitto 23

Mary McLaurin paced Topeka with 11 points.

Leading Bogue Chitto with 14 points was Adrienne Wallace.

Cathedral 39, New Hebron

The Cathedral boys were led by Collin Hammons with 19 points.Firing in 14 points was Zach West.

Will Turnage directed New Hebron with 17 points. Scoring 7points was John Rowells.

Salem 44, Bogue Chitto 35

Powering the Salem boys with a game-high 30 points was JustinLewis. Keontray Williams netted 10.

Michael Hains scored 14 points for Bogue Chitto. Germaine Martinfinished with 9.

Enterprise 39, New Hebron

The Enterprise girls were directed by Anna Beth Caves with 13points. Taylor Nelson pumped in 9 points followed by Veonka Sanderswith 8.

Taylor Brister’s 18 points paced New Hebron. Myranda Catofinished with 6.

Wesson 37, West Lincoln 16

Madison Rials’ 13 points sparked the Wesson girls. MakenzieRials and Hannah Selman followed with 6 points apiece.

For West Lincoln, Marisa Pruski and Candace Washington had 4points apiece.

Wesson 33, West Lincoln 24

The Wesson boys were powered to the win on Terry Brown’s 8points. Kenrick Bailey had 7 points.

Lucas Burris paced West Lincoln with 9 points. Hunter Fauvermade 7.

Dexter 44, Enterprise 13

Clifford Fernandez and Ron Harvey powered the Dexter boys with10 points apiece.

Pacing Enterprise with 3 points each were Konner Burke, TaylorRutland and Tanner Rials.
