Services for Elsie Foster Smith, of Huntersville, N.C., are 11a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NatchezDrive with burial in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. TheRev. Greg Warnock will officiate services.

Visitation is Monday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Smith, 88, died Jan. 18, 2008, at Olde Knox Commons NursingHome. She was born in New Hebron on Dec. 11, 1919, to James MonroeFoster and Jessie Morris Foster.

She was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Virgil RoySmith; her brothers, Grady Foster, J.M. Foster and Delton Foster;her sisters, Eunice Hall, Audrey Hutson and Virginia Sandifer.

Survivors are her son, Larry Smith and wife, Dianne, of SpringLake, N.C.; her daughter, Cheryl Durham and husband, Lyndon, ofKannapolis, N.C.; her brothers, Earl Foster, of Brookhaven, andPaul Foster and Clayton Foster, both of Natchez; her sister, EssieMeyers, of Brookhaven; four grandchildren; and fivegreat-grandchildren.
