Ada Augusta Branscome Irby
Ada Augusta Branscome Irby, 95, of Brookhaven, formerly ofGrenada, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at her residence. She was bornOct. 7, 1912, in Montgomery County to William George and AdaRoxanna Holmes Branscome. She was a member of the First UnitedMethodist Church in Grenada, and was a retired licensed practicalnurse, having worked at the Grenada Hospital for over 40 years.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, atGarner-Harper Funeral Home in Grenada, from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m.Funeral services will follow at First United Methodist Church inGrenada at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Smith and the Rev. JohnnyDinas officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn MemorialPark.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Braxter P. Irby Jr. and wifeMelissa, of Brookhaven, one granddaughter, Kathlyn Ard, of Ruth,and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Ella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, BraxterP. Irby Sr., and siblings, L.L. Branscome Sr., William GuyBranscome Sr., George Branscome, J.D. Branscome, Mamie Lee Baker,Gladiola Harris and Doris Futhey.
Garner-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Frank William Trantham
Frank William Trantham, of California, died Jan. 24, 2008, inCalifornia. He was born on Dec. 14, 1954, to Cecil Glen Tranthamand Trudy Frantz Lewis.
Mr. Trantham, 53, was disabled and a veteran of the UnitedStates Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church inFranklinton, La.
Survivors are his father, Cecil Trantham and wife Sue Carol, ofBrookhaven; his mother, Trudy Lewis, of Gainesville, Fla.; hissons, Will Trantham and Zachery Trantham, both of Amory; hisbrothers, Glen Trantham, of Gainesville, Mark Trantham, ofPinesville, La., Kevin Trantham, of Brookhaven, and Tatum Trantham,of Starkville.
Services will be held at a later date. Riverwood Family FuneralService will be in charge of arrangements.
