Wanda L. Johnson

Wanda L. Johnson, of Brookhaven, died Jan. 31, 2008, atSouthwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb.

Mrs. Johnson, 45, was born in New Orleans on April 9, 1962, toEmmett T. Johnson and Virginia L. Case Johnson.

She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her father, and her sister, Cathy JoPace.

Survivors are her mother, Virginia L. Johnson, of Brookhaven;her daughters, Crissy Menessess, of Chalmette, La., Miriah Johnson,of Brookhaven, and Jessica Stein, of Chalmette; her brothers,Emmett Johnson and Dennis L. Banks, both of Brookhaven; and hergrandchildren, Chad Menessess and Cole Costa.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. BrookhavenFuneral Home on North Jackson Street is in charge ofarrangements.

Edween Myers

Services for Edween Myers, of Brookhaven, were held at 11 a.m.on Friday, Feb. 1, at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst,with burial in Hazlehurst Cemetery.

Mrs. Myers, 94, died Jan. 30, 2008, at her residence. She was anative of Copiah County and had previously lived in Jackson from1940 until 1993, before moving to Brookhaven in 1993.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Myers, in1986.

Survivors are her sons, Ben Edd Myers and wife Betty Jo, ofBrookhaven, James Nichols “Nick” Myers and wife Nell, of Jackson,and Hal Prine Myers and wife Georgia, of Brookhaven; her sister,Olene Brown, of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, Kim Myers, Ben EddMyers Jr., Suzanne Hambrick, Nick Myers Jr., Denise Williams,Tracey Johnson, Tiffany Windham, Lacie Smith and Corey Myers; her20 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; sixgreat-great-great-grandchildren; and her devoted caretaker, MarilynBeeson.
