Paul Lee Bacanis

Services for Paul Lee Bacanis, of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m. Monday,Feb. 18, at McComb Gospel Assembly, 1104 Highway 44 East, withburial in Clay Hill Church of God Cemetery. The Revs. Bobby Boydand Kevin Boyd will officiate. Catchings Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Monday from 2 p.m.until the time of the service at McComb Gospel Assembly.

Mr. Bacanis, 55, died Feb. 15, 2008, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in McComb on Dec. 29, 1952, to John Bacanis andMinnie Duck Bacanis.

He was a member of Clay Hill Church of God in Amite County.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brothers,Robert Joseph Bacanis and John David Bacanis.

Survivors are his sisters, Mary Bacanis Dillon and husbandJames, of McComb, and Patricia Ann Bacanis Watts and husbandDerane, of Meadville; his nieces, Angelia Smith and MelissaRutland; and his nephews, Anthony Watts Jr., Ethan Edward Rutland,Curtis Ethan Smith and Nathan Brock Smith.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Watts, John Smith, Michael Watts,Ralph Swanner, Gene Fleming and Roger Boyd.

Laron Sanders

Services for Laron Sanders, of Hazlehurst, are 1 p.m. Tuesday,Feb. 19, at Williams Mortuary with burial in HillcrestCemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Sanders, 68, died Feb. 14, 2008, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on Sept. 6, 1939, to Billy Sanders andJessie Lee Johnson.

He was disabled.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, MaybellDaniels; his granddaughter, Connie Black; his great-grandson,Clayton A. Harris Jr.; four brothers, Robert Earl, Eugene, Willie,and Isaac Sanders; and four sisters, Lealen Mae, Ruthie Lee, JannieMae, and Betty Fae Sanders.

Survivors are his wife, Marie Sanders, of Hazlehurst; hisdaughters, Amy Middleton and Erica Sanders, both of Hazlehurst, andErica Sanders and husband, C.L., of Bogue Chitto; his sons, RobertSanders and wife Stacey, of Lansing, Mich., and Derrick Sanders, ofHazlehurst; three stepdaughters; three stepsons; his brothers,Johnnie Ray Johnson, Henrey Lee Johnson, and Charlie Johnson, allof Brookhaven; his sisters, Lillie Bryant and husband S.Q., MaxineJackson and husband L.C., Estella Clark, Minnie B. Hardy, Helen K.Burage, Lizzie Nell Tyler, Ruth Webster, and Gustavia Carter, allof Brookhaven; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and manynieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
