ELLISVILLE — Sophomore’s Greg Truvillion and Anthony Wilcherpumped in 19 points apiece Thursday night to lead the Co-Lin Wolvesto a big 69-68 South Division win over the Jones CountyBobcats.

In the women’s game, Jones County whipped Co-Lin by 21 points,76-58.

The 18-6 Wolves, coached by Dennis Sims, are the No. 1 seed outthe South in the state tournament being held next week at ItawambaCommunity College in Fulton. Co-Lin meets the No. 4 team out of theNorth Monday at 1:30 p.m.

The 17-7 Lady Wolves, coached by Gwyn Young. are the No. 4 seedout the South and play Tuesday against the No. 1 team out of theNorth. Game time is 6.

Co-Lin 69, Jones Co. 68

At halftime, the Wolves trailed the Bobcats 36-28. To start thesecond half, freshman guard Trent Hutchin and Truvillion beganhitting treys to make a run on the Bobcats. Wilcher followed withback-to-back treys to put Co-Lin on top and they never relinquishedthe lead to Jones the remainder of the game.

“Anthony Wilcher shot the ball well in the second half,” saidSims. “It was good to see him step up and raise him level ofplay.”

Hutchin added support with 12 points followed by Corey Londonwith 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.

Jones Co. 76, Co-Lin 58

The Lady Wolves struggled from the start to the finish accordingto Young.

“Offensively, we struggled the whole game, shooing 35 percentthe first half and only 34 percent for the game. Jones played welldefensively and caused us some problems on offense, but mostly itwas us. We had no team effort and no focus for the game.

“We had too many turnovers,” continued Young. “We need someplayers to step up and take responsibility for our effort, focusand team play.”

Powering the Lady Wolves with sophomore guard Reisha Bullock ofKenner, La. Kristin Ellis finished with 12 points.

Jones County got 18 points from TeAnna Carter. Netting 13 pointseach were Deanna Booth and Kate Hubbard. Consuela Tucker finishedwith 10.
