Geneva C. Baughman

Services for Geneva C. Baughman, of the Oak Grove community,were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, at Hulett-Winstead SumrallChapel in Hattiesburg with burial in Rock Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Baughman, 72, died Feb. 19, 2008, at Wesley MedicalCenter.

She was the former owner of The Quilted Heart. She was a memberof the Methodist faith.

Survivors are her husband, Tommy C. Baughman, of Oak Grove; herson, Danny Altman, of Ruth; her stepson, Mike Baughman, of Petal;her daughter, Debbie Altman, of Summit; her stepdaughter, MelissaHolbrooke, of Sumrall; her sisters, Elnita Corbitt Parr and JeanCorbitt Nicholson, both of Nashville, Ga., and Wilma Corbitt Rowe,of Douglas, Ga.; her brother, Tom Corbitt, of Manchester, Conn.;her three granddaughters and four stepgrandsons; and agreat-stepgrandson.

Yvonne Britt

Services for Yvonne Britt, of Wesson, are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb.26, at Riverwood Family Service Chapel with burial in MacedoniaBaptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Britt, 86, died on her birthday, Feb. 23, 2008, at St.Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson. Her husband WilmerBritt also died on his birthday. She was born on Feb. 23, 1922, toWiley Allen and Lela Britt.

She was retired from Stahl Urban and the Potter Company. She wasa homemaker. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WilmerBritt; her brother Martell Allen; and a son, Carroll Britt.

Survivors include her daughter Kathy Evans and husband, Stanley,of Brookhaven; her sister, Magaline Townsend, of Brookhaven; fivegrandchildren, Kate Smith, Chris Britt, Mitzi Britt, KimberlyJames, and Tracey Shufelt; four great-grandchildren Collin James,Noah James, Gibson Britt and Larson Emfinger.

Roger M. Myrick

Roger Myrick went to meet his Lord and Savior on Friday, Feb.22, 2008, at his residence. Funeral services will be Monday, Feb.25 at 2 p.m. at Union Baptist Church in Brookhaven.

Visitation was Sunday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Myrick, 74, was born on June 16, 1933, to Spencer MalcolmMyrick and Harriet Louise Fry.

He was a retired engineer. He was a member of Union BaptistChurch, where he was an active deacon. He was also a U.S. Armyveteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, FloydMyrick.

Survivors are his wife, Jo Ann Williams Myrick; his sons, DavidMyrick, of Ridgeland, James Myrick, of Atlanta, Ga., Robert Myrick,of Brandon, and a stepson, Tony Baker, of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Andrea Myrick, of Durham, N.C., Kathyrn Myrick, ofMemphis, Tenn., Renee Darby, of Hernando, and a stepdaughter, TerriMoak, of Brookhaven; his brother, Wayne Myrick, of Caldwell, Idaho;12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials or gifts may be made to the Union Baptist ChurchBuilding Fund.

Effie Mae Smith

Services for Effie Mae Smith, of Vicksburg, are 11 a.m. Tuesday,Feb. 26, at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church with burial in Bogue ChittoCemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Glenwood FuneralHome in Vicksburg and again Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the serviceat the church.

Mrs. Smith, 100, died Feb. 23, 2008. She was born in AmiteCounty.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Gibson Memorial Church where she wasa nursery teacher, member of the United Methodist Women, the choirand the Kings Bible Class.

Preceding her in death were her husband, William Anderson “Ance”Smith III; her parents, Solomon and Fannie Smith; her brothers,William “Bill” Sanders, Tommy Lee Sanders; and her sister, BeulahSimmons.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Smith, ofVicksburg; several nephews and a niece.
