George Ezekiel Allred

George Ezekiel Allred, 77, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed awayFeb. 29, 2008, at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born March 29, 1930, in Brookhaven, to Martin EzekielAllred and Iva Idell Lewis Allred. He graduated from BrookhavenHigh School and received his master’s degree from MississippiSouthern College. He was a technical sergeant in the United StatesAir Force during the Korean War.

He married Jenny Mary Palleria on May 2, 1958, in Idaho Falls.They made their home in Idaho Falls where he worked as a highschool teacher, and later as a human resources representative forthe federal government.

He enjoyed gardening, painting, and spending time with hisfamily, especially his granddaughter, Staci.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, William andMarshall; and three sisters, Lukie “Ezelee,” Rena and Rubye.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Allred; his son, Scott DouglasAllred, of Fredericksburg, Va.; his son, Richard Lance Allred, ofSanta Fe, N.M., one grandchild and two stepgrandchildren.

As he requested, no services will be held. Burial will be in theGrove City Cemetery in Blackfoot, Idaho, under the direction ofWood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.

Avery Lucian ‘Luc’ Smith

Avery Lucian “Luc” Smith, of Wesson, passed away March 3, 2008,at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was surrounded by hisfamily, and others, who loved him very much.

Luc was born Aug. 4, 2005. Throughout his life, he touched manypeople. His toughness was an inspiration to all who knew him. Hewas a light unto the world and he warmed many a cold heart. Heproved to everyone how strong of a fighter he was, even until theend.

He is survived by his loving mother, Kristie Smith, of Wesson;his proud father, Justin L. Smith, of Wesson; his adoring sister,Kelsa L. Powell, of Wesson; two sets of grandparents, Pete andBetty Jeane Smith, of Natchez, and Gary and Kathy Winborne, ofWesson; his nurse, Lee Margaret Wall, of Monticello; Dr. DavidBraden and all the staff at Brookhaven Children’s Clinic, Blair E.Batson Hospital for Children and King’s Daughters Medical Center;as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His funeral will be Thursday, March 6 at Zion Hill BaptistChurch in Wesson, where he was a member his entire life. Visitationwill start at noon at the church, with services at 2 p.m. and theburial to follow.

The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, memorials aresent to either Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital or The RonaldMcDonald House in Jackson.
