Services for Natasha Bates, of Bogue Chitto, will be held at3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, at Rose Hill Missionary BaptistChurch in Brookhaven with burial in the church cemetery. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 5 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Ms. Bates, 23, died Feb. 26, 2008, in Ferriday, La. She was bornin Fort Huachuca, Ariz., on Feb. 17, 1985, to Raymond L. Bates andKatrina C. Hawkins.

She was a 2003 graduate of Shaw High School in Columbus, Ga.,and attended Troy State University. She was a student and hadcompleted a certified nursing assistant program through theMississippi Job Corps. She completed four years of Junior ReserveOfficers Training. She was a member of Rose Hill Missionary BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Robert Carter Jr.and Leora Gayten Carter; and her great-grandparents, Lee and AnnieGayten.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, her mother,Katrina (James) Hawkins, of Brookhaven; her father, Raymond (Donna)Bates, of Indianapolis, Ind.; her great-grandmother, ChristineBates, of Indianapolis; her grandparents, Willie (Peggy) Bates andBeverly Tyler, all of Indianapolis; her sisters, Ashley N. Hawkins,of Orlando, Fla., Chanel N. Bates, of Indianapolis, and Jasmine K.Hawkins, of Brookhaven; her aunts, Ann King, of Lansing, Mich.,Yolanda Carter and Latoya (Fred) Fairman, of Memphis, Tenn., Deitra(Richard) Marlowe, Leslie Bates, Shelaine Yamobi, Torrie Bates,Shawntell Bates, Whitney Bates, all of Indianapolis; her uncles,Ronnie Carter, of Memphis, Rene Carter and Ricky Carter, both ofBrookhaven, Desmond C. Gray and Kyle Bates, of Indianapolis; and ahost of great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins, family and friends.
