Henryetta Kayes Townsend, 95, died March 7, 2008 at HospiceMinistries. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Wright& Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Townsend was born on Aug. 12, 1912 in Norfield. Sheattended Whitworth College and graduated from William Carey. Sheearned her master’s degree from the University of Virginia.

She taught special reading in the Arlington, Va. public schoolsystem. She retired in 1973, moving back to Brookhaven. She was amember of First United Methodist Church and is preceded in death byher husband, Dabney Winston Townsend Sr.

She is survived by her sons, Dabney Winston Townsend Jr., ofSavannah, Ga., and Henry Kayes Townsend, of Manassas, Va.; and hergranddaughter, Victoria Kayes Townsend.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church inBrookhaven.
