Lovida L. Ratcliff Clyburn

Lovida L. Ratcliff Clyburn, 86, of Brookhaven, left his earthlyworld to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in her newheavenly home while at her daughter’s residence in the Loyd Starcommunity on Saturday, March 8, 2008.

Services will be held at Community Funeral Services Chapel at 2p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, with burial at the Church of JesusChrist of Latter-day Saints in the Red Star Ward, beside her firsthusband who died in 1956 on this same date.

Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 5until 9 p.m.

She was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 3, 1921, to William Cardand Mae Albritton Lawrence.

She was a longtime member of Southway Baptist Church. She was aretired employee with the Brookhaven School System as a cafeteriaworker and also a former employee of Stahl-Urban and Gibson’sDiscount Store. She loved to garden, quilt, sew and cook. Shedearly loved her Lord and her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, E.C.Lawrence, of Wiggins; her sisters, Onedia Simmons Smith, ofBrookhaven, and Lavaun Cupit, of Ferriday, La.; her husbands,Barney E. Ratcliff and William Earl Clyburn; and her son-in-law,Danny McCullough.

She is survived by her sons, Melvin and Dixie (Dye) Ratcliff, ofFlorence, Randy and Addie (Root) Ratcliff; and one daughter whodevotedly took care of her, Janet Ratcliff McCullough; her sister,Lavelle L. White, all of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, ChristiRatcliff Myers, Vikki Ratcliff, Mel Ratcliff, Jason Ratcliff, ToddRatcliff and Keesha Ratcliff; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jared Myers, David Corley, Gery Cupit, DavidMcCullough, Robby Channel and Ronny Lawrence.
