Bogue Chitto girls nail win over Enterprise

BOGUE CHITTO — Kelli Howard fanned 6 batters and walked 1 tolead the Bogue Chitto Lady ‘Cats to a win over the Enterprise LadyYellow Jackets Thursday night in girls fastpitch softball play.

Bogue Chitto visits Natchez Cathedral Tuesday. Enterpriseparticipates in the Richland Tournament Saturday.

Bogue Chitto (11-3, 4-1) went up 2-0 in the first inning.Enterprise (5-7, 0-1) tied the game in the top of the third. The’Cats answered with 1 run to take a 3-2 lead after three.

In the bottom of the fifth, the hosts scored another run for a4-2 lead and eventual win.

“It was a good game,” said Bogue Chitto girls coach ScottLeggett. “We played good defense. We are playing hard and battledwell. Enterprise hit the ball good tonight. I am proud of my girlseffort.”

Caitlin Owen led Bogue Chitto with a double and a single.Singling were Darcy Miller, Bradi Davis and Howard.,

“It was a hard-fought game for both teams ,” said Enterprisegirls coach Steve Sasser. “Both pitchers did a good job. I waspleased with our effort tonight. We played well but came upshort.”

Singling for the Lady Jackets were Karla Hux, Melane Rutland,Ashley Greer, Sarah Burke and Katlyn Moak.

Junior varsity action

Bogue Chitto nipped Enterprise 4-2.

Josie Porter posted the win with 4 strikeouts and 5 walks.Taylor Nelson took the loss with 9 strikeouts and 3 walks.

Sabrina Coleman singled twice for 4 RBI for Bogue Chitto.Adrienne Wallace hit safely.

Leading Enterprise with a triple was Nelson. Coghlansingled.
