Services for Jamie Paul Johnson, of Jayess, will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at Providence Baptist Church in Jayesswith burial in the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home inMonticello is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Johnson, 54, died March 29, 2008, at his residence. He wasborn in McComb on Jan. 30, 1954, to James Herman Johnson andFrances Fenn Johnson, of Summit.

He was a retired conductor with Illinois Central Railroad, wherehe began working on Feb. 9, 1973. He was a 1972 graduate of NorthPike High School in McComb, where held the standing record for themost points scored in a single game of basketball. He attendedSouthwest Mississippi Junior College. He was a member of ProvidenceBaptist Church. After his retirement, his job was being a great,loving “Pawpaw.”

Preceding him in death were his son, Jeremy Paul Johnson; hisbrother, Jackie Darryl Johnson; his grandparents, Hilton and MyrtleFenn, John Lewis Johnson, Ethel Roberts Johnson Bales and J.W.Bales; his nephews, Josh and Dustin Johnson; and his father- andmother-in-law, J.W. and Irma Niece Miller

Survivors are his parents; his wife, Judith Kay Miller Johnson,of Jayess; his sons, Randy Johnson and wife Tracey, and ScottJohnson and wife Mendy, all of Jayess; his grandchildren, Haven,Heidi and Hib Johnson, Katelyn Josh and Chris Reid, and LoganCostilo and Rylie Clower; his sister, Sondra J. Bell and husbandRandy, of North Carolina; his brother-in-law, Larry Miller and wifeLinda; and his sister-in-law, Clara Miller Herrington; and hisnieces, Brooke and Kayla Johnson, and Brandi Walker and JaymeBullock.
