Jerry Hoyt Dampier, 78, of Monticello, died on March 31, 2008,at Southwest Mississippi Medical Center in McComb.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1929, to James Virgil Dampier and OmegaFarthing.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and servedduring Vietnam and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of OldSilver Creek Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, William CurtisDampier; and his sister, Betty Sue Herring.

Survivors are his wife, Bonnie M. Dampier; his sons, HoytDampier, Terry G. Dampier and Jeff Dampier; his brother, DickDampier; his five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements,which will be held at a later time.
