West Lincoln girls need 3 to defeat Enterprise

It took just three innings for the host West Lincoln Lady Bearsto put away the Enterprise Lady Yellow Jackets 16-1 Friday night innon-division fastpitch softball action.

West Lincoln (6-4, 4-1) outhit Enterprise 18-2.

“We hit the ball well,” said West Lincoln girls coach AndrewRedd. “We were able to hit the gaps at will tonight. Our hittingwas consistent.”

West Lincoln entertains Cathedral Monday and Loyd Star Tuesday.Enterprise (5-15, 0-3) hosts Loyd Star Monday night.

“We hit the ball tonight,” said Enterprise coach SteveSasser.

Powering West Lincoln with a triple, a double and a single wasShelby Lofton, who was the winning pitcher with no strikeouts and 2walks. Hannah Knouse singled twice and doubled. Holli Smith andAshley McCaffrey drilled a double and a single apiece.

Adding support in the Lady Bears’ win with 3 singles was TaylorCrews. Keri Easley doubled. Haley Ainsworth singled twice. Hittingsafely were Julie Case and Katie Mullins.

Enterprise got a single from Karla Hux and Kolbi Lewis. KaylaOwens absorbed the loss with no strikeouts and 3 walks.

Junior varsity action

Enterprise stomped West Lincoln 13-4. Taylor Nelson posted thewin, fanning 3 batters and walking 2. Anna Smith and Easley sawaction for the losers.

MaKayla Smith and Marissa Pruski led the Lady Bears with asingle.

Smashing a home run and double for the Lady Jackets was HannahRussell. Tyler Boyd singled twice.
