Services for Mayfred Lofton Lewis, of Baton Rouge, La., are 11a.m. Monday, April 7, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burialin the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Lewis, 92, died April 5, 2008, at Hospice of Baton Rouge.She was born in Lincoln County on April 12, 1915, to Ike Lofton andMagdalena Ratcliff Lofton.

She was a beautician. She was a member of Zoar BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Theo B. Lewis; herparents; her son, Larry Lewis; and her grandson, Tate Lewis.

Survivors are her son, Ted A. Lewis and wife Peggy, of Pride,La.; her grandchildren, Drew Lewis, Lance Lewis, Jimmy Martin,Jessie Martin and Tasha Seymour; her sister, Aileen Byrd, ofBrookhaven; and five great-grandchildren.

Modena Williams

Services for Modena Williams, of Ruth, are 3 p.m. Sunday, April6, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial inTopisaw Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Williams, 94, died April 4, 2008, at her residence. She wasborn on June 13, 1913, to Hughie Greer and Lelia Mae Guy Greer.

She was a retired nurse. She was a member of Providence BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Bennie Arnold Williams;her parents; and her grandsons, Bobby Lamar Rutland and JamesArnold Carter.

Survivors are her daughters, Ruth Rutledge and husband Rex, ofRuth, and Polly Carter and husband, the Rev. David Carter, ofNashville, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Patricia Smith and husbandRoy, of Scott, Pamela Hudson and husband Wendell, of Batesville,and Brenda Smith and husband George, of Leland; and hergreat-grandchildren, Justin, Courtney and Daniel Smith, Benjamin,Joshua and Emily Smith, and Gary and Lisa Hudson.
