Lillian Hall Lofton

Services for Lillian Hall Lofton, of Brookhaven, were held at 10a.m. on Friday, April 4, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel onNatchez Drive with burial in Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery inFranklin County.

Mrs. Lofton, 81, died April 1, 2008, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on Feb. 12, 1927, to Eugene “Genie” Hall andMaude Kyzar Hall.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Moose Lodge and Veteransof Foreign Wars. She was an avid Bingo player. She was a member ofDamascus Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, FloydLofton Sr.; a toddler son, Donald Gene Montgomery; an infantdaughter, Vickie Jo Lofton; her sister, Nell Smith; and herbrothers, J.E. Hall and Paul E. Hall.

Survivors are her sons, Floyd Lofton Jr. and wife Carolyn, andDanny Lofton and wife Kitty, all of Brookhaven; her daughters,Betty Webb and husband Richard, of Hardy, Ark., and Pat Lofton andhusband Larry, of Brookhaven; her brothers, Bobby Hall, ofBrookhaven, and Jack Hall and wife Lillian, of Wesson; her sisters,Winnie Cannon, Ludie Wilson and Vedia Givens, all of Brookhaven;sister-in-law, Lucille Hall; her grandchildren, Paul Lofton, JayLofton and wife Kim, Tracy Rankins and husband Brian, ofCrawfordsville, Ark., Teresa Walker and husband Jim, Scotty Whiteand wife Brandy, Tammy Lofton and Chris Lofton, all of Brookhaven;her 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and otherrelatives, along with many friends and neighbors.

Shirley Smith

Services for Shirley Smith, of Brookhaven, will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, April 11, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church inBrookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven. R.E.Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from noon until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Ms. Smith, 50, died April 8, 2008, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born in Louisiana on March20, 1958 to Ralph Smith and Lucille Ceazer.

She was disabled and a member of St. James M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, CorneliusSmith; and her sister, Pauline Felder.

Survivors are her sons, Timothy Smith, of Brookhaven, and RobertSmith, of Miami, Fla.; her daughters, Patricia Smith and DonnaWebb, both of Brookhaven; her brothers, Vernon Smith, ofBrookhaven, Ralph Ceazer, of Hammond, La., and Herman Smith, ofMiami; her sisters, Sally Smith, of Brookhaven, and Minnie AnnDantzler, of Hammond; and her eight grandchildren.
