Services for Jessie Webster Vinson Sr., of Brookhaven, will beheld at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, at Brookhaven Funeral HomeChapel on North Jackson Street with burial in Easthaven Cemetery inBrookhaven.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Vinson, 83, died April 14, 2008, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter in Brookhaven. He was born in Calfax, La., on Sept. 9, 1924,to Webster Walworth Vinson and Euther Hale Vinson.

He was retired from his work in the oil field after 45 years ofservice. He came to Brookhaven with Marshall R. Young Oil Co., in1957, and retired in 1986 from Marlin Drilling Co. He was a memberof Union Hall Baptist Church and attended Heuck’s Retreat BaptistChurch. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. Hewas a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, FrancesBarbara Vinson; his grandson, Jayson Vinson; his granddaughter,Chrissy Hall; and his brothers, Benny and Gene Vinson.

Survivors are his sons and their wives, Jay and Linda Vinson, ofMeridian, Frank and Tammy Vinson, and Scott Vinson, all ofBrookhaven; his daughter, Linda Hall and husband Glenn, of BogueChitto; his sisters, Helen Stanfield, of Lafayette, La., and EthelStowell, of Delhi, La.; his grandchildren, Angie Davis and husbandDwayne, of Byran, Matt Hall, Mandy Vinson and Kelly Vinson, DevinVinson, Jordan Vinson and Parker Vinson, all of Brookhaven; DarethVinson and Jessica Vinson, both of Memphis, Tenn.
