Ole Brook netters bag playoff win

Brookhaven’s tennis team cleared another hurdle Monday in theClass 4A state playoffs at the Brookhaven Country Club. Coach TerriHall juggled her lineup and the Panthers prevailed 4-3 over thecombined team of OLA/Saint Stanislaus to reach Saturday’ssemifinals.

In mixed doubles, Alex Lea and Lakenya Kelly of Brookhavenposted a 6-3, 6-2 win over Olivia Campbell and Diask Guffino.

In No. 1 boys doubles, Bryant Kintner and Reilly Miller of BHSprevailed over Charlie Pittman and Jake Fusia 6-0,6-2.

In No. 1 girls doubles, Hannah Driskell moved from singles andjoined BHS teammate Allison Boyd in a tough 6-4, 4-6, (10-6) winover Megan Bagwell and Colleen Rafferty.

In No. 2 girls doubles, Brook’s Emily Lowery and Amanda Moakposted a 6-4, 6-3 win over Kathleen McKissack and ShelbyWagner.

In girls singles, OLA’s Megan Terrell won 6-3, 6-1 over MeredithJacobs. In boys singles, St. Stan’s Henderson Hewes was a 6-0, 6-0winner over Aaron Scoggin.,

In No. 2 boys doubles, another tight match took place as St.Stan’s Evan Cranford and Sam Goggin won 2-6, 6-1 (10-6) overMatthew Hart and Scott Warnock.
