Services for Richard Brown Sr., of Summit, will be held at noonon Saturday, May 10, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in McCombwith burial in Greenlawn Cemetery in Summit, with Pastor HiltonHarrell officiating. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of theservice.
Mr. Brown, 91, died May 7, 2008, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born on Nov. 10, 1916, toWilliam “Bill” Brown and Ella Knox Brown.
He was retired. He was a member of Pleasant Grove BaptistChurch.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Charlie B.Brown; his sons, Richard Brown Jr. and Jeffery Brown; his daughter,Shirley McBride; his brothers, Hollis Brown and A.B. Brown; and hissister, Lula Mae Bullock.
Survivors are his sons, Charles Brown and wife Ida, of McComb,R.K. Brown and wife Linda, and Larry Brown and wife Catherine, allof Summit; his daughters, Ruby Martinez and husband Andre Martinez,of Virginia Beach, Va., Eunice Brown White and husband RichardWhite, of Summit, Rhonda Darlene Carter and husband Jerry Carter,of McComb, Warnella Brown, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Cynthia Brown, of St.Paul, Minn., Roberta Williams and husband Clinton Williams, ofChicago, Ill., and Katie Floyd and husband Thomas Floyd, of Summit;his sisters, Irma Lee Bishop, of Hammond, La., Maxine McCoy, ofMilwaukee, Wis., and Rosie Lee Jefferson, of Milwaukee; and his 35grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
