Woman killed in afternoon accident

A Lincoln County woman is dead after her hatchback Ford collidedwith a pickup truck and trailer in the Loyd Star area Thursdayafternoon.

Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris said Tiffany Nanette Boman,19, was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:55 p.m. in front of herresidence at 219 Hilltop Lane.

Her 1994 Ford Aspire collided with a Ford F-250 pickup truckdriven by Kristopher Case, 30, of Brookhaven. The truck was alsopulling a heavy flatbed trailer.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Public Affairs Officer Sgt. RustyBoyd said Case was southbound on Hilltop Lane when Boman came outof a private driveway.

“She turned on to Hilltop Lane into the path of the F250, wherethey hit somewhat head on,” Boyd said. “It looks like she just cameout and there wasn’t enough room for them to both be there at thesame time.”

Officials said it appeared that Boman may not have seen thepickup truck coming when she turned into the road. Emergencypersonnel used the Jaws of Life to extract Boman from hervehicle.

Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said MHP was called in toassist in processing the accident because the agency has an officercertified in accident reconstruction.

Boman is the daughter of Zina and Kevin Droak of Bogue Chittoand Alton Ray Boman of Alabama. Funeral arrangements, which areincomplete, will be handled by Community Funeral Services.

Case, who was wearing his seat belt, was not injured in theaccident.
