WESSON – Six members of the Copiah-Lincoln Community CollegeWolfpack have been named to the Mississippi Association ofCommunity and Junior College (MACJC) All-State Team. Right-handedpitcher Brandt Hinton of Brookhaven and shortstop Steven Gauthe’ ofBelle Rose, La., were named to the first team. Named to the secondteam were centerfielder Montez Chatman of Magee, leftfielder PaulDavis of Brookhaven, third baseman Timmy Foster of Natchez, andsecond baseman Jordan Toney of Mendenhall.

“We are very proud of our players who were honored for theiraccomplishment this season,” Co-Lin coach Keith Case said. “Theplayers selected from our team are very deserving and they shouldbe very proud.”

Hinton, a Brookhaven High School product, had a 6-4 record to gowith a 2.29 ERA in 76 innings of work. He has struck out 70 batterswhile walking 15. He picked up two saves and opponents batted .226against him.

A Nicholls State University signee, Gauthe’ led the team with 53hits and 42 runs. He was second on the team in batting average(.349) and stolen bases (25). Gauthe’ was a 2007 recipient of theRawlings Gold Glove Award.

A product of Magee High School, Chatman led the team in stolenbases with 26 and was second on the team in on base percentage(448). He batted .345 on the season to go with 49 hits and 4doubles.

Davis batted .322 on the season to go with 3 home runs and 32RBIs. He accounted for 8 doubles, 2 triples and stole 13 bases.Davis is tied for the team lead in walks (21).

Foster, an Adams County Christian School product, led the teamin batting average (.356), home runs (9), RBIs (47), total bases(93), slugging percentage (.637), and on base percentage (.451). Hewas tied for first on the team with 21 walks and second on the teamin runs (41) and doubles (10).

A Mississippi College signee, Toney batted .326 on the seasonwith 2 home runs and 29 RBIs. He accounted for 47 hits, 35 runs, 8doubles and 12 stolen bases.

The Wolfpack finished the season with a 27-23 record and were10-7 in the South Division.
