Services for Norma Louise Hartman, of Little Rock, Ark., will beheld at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, at Brookhaven Funeral HomeChapel on North Jackson Street, with burial in Easthaven Cemeteryin Brookhaven immediately following.

Visitation is Saturday, June 28, from 3 p.m. until the time ofthe service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hartman, 82, died peacefully in her sleep on Fridaymorning, May 30, 2008, in Little Rock. She was born in Brookhavenon Aug. 18, 1925, and lived a full and rich life. Her parents,Thelma and Jasper Homer Hedgepeth, helped her grow up to be a truesouthern belle, and in that tradition, she and 14 of her closestfriends formed a lifelong club called the “Firecrackers.” Sheattended Brookhaven High School where she was head cheerleader forfour years and the darling of all who knew her.

She married the boy next door, Bud Hartman, who was a World WarII fighter pilot. A devoted Air Force wife, she and their threechildren moved all over the world, living in America, Europe andAsia. Norma was a wonderful wife and mother. She was an activemember of the Presbyterian church, as well as a Sunday schoolteacher, Girl Scout leader, PTA president, Base Youth ActivitiesDirector, and host of the children’s TV show, “The ShinabargerShow” in the Philippines Islands. Her interests included oilpainting, poetry, flower arranging, antiques, gourmet cooking, artsand crafts, playing the piano, traveling, and entertaining. She wasa proud and faithful member of The Ladies of the Club in Dayton,Ohio.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and her brother, JayHomer Hedgepeth.

Survivors are her husband of 64 years, Albert “Bud” Hartman; herson, Sid Hartman of Orlando and his wife, Janet and their twins,Lauren and Philip; her daughter, Melissa Bearden of Little Rock,her daughter, Ashley Bearden of New York City, her son, BrianBearden and his wife, Sabra of North Little Rock; her daughter,Heather Russell of Dallas and her husband, Allen and theirdaughter, Kelly Schwartz of Washington, D.C., and her husband, Roy:and one sister, Lynda Murray of Birmingham Ala.
