No injuries in morning house fire

No one was injured in a house fire that destroyed a home insouth Brookhaven early Friday morning.

Brookhaven Fire Department Shift Capt. Marty Beeson saidfirefighters were called out from all three stations at 1:46 a.m.to a house fire at 214 Hall St. The home belonged to JamesRobinson.

“The home was fully involved upon our arrival,” Beeson said.

Once the fire was extinguished on the lower level, firefightersemployed ladders to be sure the attic area was clear of flames aswell.

The cause is undetermined and Fire Chief Bob Watts said it isstill under investigation. He said officials will return to thescene to try to determine the cause in the near future.

Firefighters returned to the station at 3:16 a.m. Beesonestimated the damage to the home was between 80 and 90 percent.
