Services for Robert Johnson, of Monticello, were 2 p.m. onSunday, June 15, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRobert’s Memorial Cemetery in Jayess.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Johnson, 68, died June 13, 2008, at McComb Extended Care. Hewas born on Dec. 11, 1939, to Nolen Sherdian Johnson and VirgieMahurin Johnson.

He was disabled. He was a member of Assembly of God inBlanchard, Okla.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his brother, Edward Johnson, of Vancleave; hissisters, Betty Magers, of Tylertown, and Martha Wallace, of Rogers,Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn Inez Smith

Services for Evelyn Inez Smith, of Bogue Chitto, were 2 p.m. onSunday, June 15, at Gum Grove Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home’s Natchez Drive locationis in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith, 86, died June 13, 2008, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. She was born in Lincoln Countyon April 11, 1922, to Dewey V. Smith and Lois Laird Smith.

She was a former garment factory seamstress. She was a member ofGum Grove Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James W.Smith; her son, James Carroll Smith; and her brothers, William V.Smith and Earl Smith.

Survivors are her son, Bobby Glen Smith and wife Dolores, ofBogue Chitto; her daughters, Betty Sanders and husband Joe, ofCarthage, and Jane Leary and husband Terry, of Brookhaven; hersister, Joan Anding, of Bogue Chitto; her special friend, LucyNettles; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and threegreat-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the KidneyFoundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.

Ronald E. Turner

Graveside services for Ronald E. Turner, of Brookhaven, are 10a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Turner, 61, died June 13, 2008, at G.V. “Sonny” MontgomeryVA Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on Dec. 21, 1946, toElmer C. Turner and Betty Reed Turner.

He was a former convenience store owner and accountant. He was aVietnam Era veteran of the U.S. Navy. He achieved his Fellowship inthe Loyal Order of the Moose.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Bonnie L. Turner, of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Jennifer E. Wooten, of Brookhaven; his sister, MarshaWilliams, of Sanford, Fla.; and his grandchildren, Keith Jent, TraeWooten, Alayna Wooten and Loren Wooten.

Rebecca LaShay Brothern

Services for Rebecca LaShay Brothern, of Champaign, Ill., are 2p.m. on Monday, June 16, at St. Paul M.B. Church with burial in OldMacedonia Cemetery in Loyd Star. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

Ms. Brothern, 33, died June 8, 2008, in Chicago, Ill. She wasborn in Jackson on July 20, 1974, to John E. Scott and AlmaBrothern Robinson.

She was a 1993 graduate of Brookhaven High School and the ownerof a child care facility in Champaign.

Preceding her in death were her grandfathers, Joe Louis Brothernand Louie Scott; and her grandmothers, Ethel Mae Cain McNulty andAnnie B. Scott.

Survivors are her sons, Jelun Dixon, Danari Crawford, FrantaeCrawford and Ladell Johnson, all of Champaign; her mother, AlmaBrothern Robinson, of Champaign; her father, Joe E. Scott, ofBrookhaven; her grandmother, Bessie Brothern, of Brookhaven; hersisters, Sharon Brothern and Marrocie Brothern, both of Champaign,Yvette Redd, of Brookhaven, and Earlene Newman and Annie BellScott, both of Tampa, Fla.; her brothers, John E. Brothern, ofChampaign, and Stanley Dent, of Brandon; and many aunts, uncles,cousins and friends.
