Services for Irven Wallace, of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m. onThursday, June 26, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Montgomery Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Wallace, 83, died June 24, 2008, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center. He was born on Jan. 17, 1925, to Martin Wallace andElena Brown Wallace.

He served the U.S. Army and in World War II. He was a retiredfurniture and appliance salesman. He coached Babe Ruth and DixieYouth baseball programs. He was a member of First Baptist Church inBrookhaven where he was a member of Wesley Kent Sunday SchoolClass.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, OmaWallace and Edith Wallace; and a brother, Earl Wallace.

Survivors are his wife, Yvonne Leggett Wallace; his sons, RandyWallace and wife, Jenny, of Columbia, and Don Wallace, ofBrookhaven; his brothers, Aubrey Wallace, of Bogue Chitto, BuddyWallace, of Bogue Chitto, and Lewis Wallace, of Brookhaven; hissisters, Eva Nell Adams, of Bogue Chitto, and Missy Hancock, ofSummit; his six grandchildren, Brooks Wallace, of Picayune, BlakeWallace, of Brookhaven, Erica Wallace, of Vicksburg, WhitneyHolmes, of Summit, Allyson Wallace, of Brookhaven, and TaylorWallace, of Brookhaven; and his five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the Choir Robe Fund at First BaptistChurch in Brookhaven.
