Services for Margie Emma Jackson, of Jackson, are 11 a.m.Friday, June 27, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Wesson. Baldwin-LeeFuneral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jackson, 83, died June 25, 2008, at Chadwick Nursing andRehabilitation Center in Jackson.

She was born and reared near Loyd Star but lived most of heradult life in Jackson. She worked for more than 30 years as a shiftmanager and waitress at The Krystal on Capitol Street and on TerryRoad. She retired in 1987.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Roy Dennis Jackson, anIllinois Central Railroad employee, who died in 1968, and by herlongtime best friend, Arthur LaCaze Sr.

Survivors are her only child, Dr. Dennis Jackson, a writer andeducator. He has published numerous books, scholarly articles, andmagazine and newspaper stories, and is currently writing abiography. He retired in 2007 as professor of English andjournalism at the University of Delaware; and her sister NellKimble, of Brookhaven.
