Services for the Rev. Excell MaGee, of Sontag, are 11 a.m.Saturday, July 5, at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Sontagwith burial in the church cemetery. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 6 p.m. at the funeral homewith family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

The Rev. MaGee, 74, died June 29, 2008, at his residence. He wasborn in Sontag on April 5, 1934, to Robert MaGee and Allie MaeBarnes-MaGee.

He attended Friendship High School and received seminary trainingat Biola Bible College in Long Beach, Calif. He was assistantpastor at Mt. Siana Church Of God In Christ in Pomona, Calif., for20 years. The Rev. MaGee was also pastor and founder of the NewRevelation Christian Center in San Bernadino, Calif., where heserved as pastor for seven years. He also served in the U.S. Armyduring the Korean War.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Cal RobertMaGee and Obie Lee Howard MaGee.

Survivors are his wife, Leotha Marie Smith-MaGee, of Sontag; hissons, Patrick MaGee, of Savannah, Ga., Simeon MaGee, of Rialto,Calif., and Imanuel MaGee, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; hisbrothers, Lonnie Ray and Vester Lee, both of Los Angeles, Louis J.and Ollie B., both of Sontag; his sisters, Bessie Barnes, ofFontana, Calif., and Jessie Locke of Gardena, Calif.; and his ninegrandchildren.
