Services for the Rev. Gordon Eugene Dickerson, of Summit, were10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at Johnston Chapel United MethodistChurch in Pike County with burial in the church cemetery.Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive was in charge ofarrangements.

The Rev. Dickerson, 83, died July 2, 2008, at Wesley Medical Centerin Hattiesburg. He was born in Johnston Station on Jan. 9, 1925, toSidney Dickerson and Della Johnston Dickerson.

He was retired from the State Agriculture Department and a UnitedMethodist minister who was pastor of Pleasant Grove UnitedMethodist Church for 13 years. He was a member of Johnston ChapelUMC, United Methodist Men, and a former Gideon.

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, Billie FayeDickerson.

Survivors are his sons, Gerry Dickerson and wife, Judy, of Summit,Barry Dickerson and wife, Grace, of Water Valley, and BillDickerson and wife, Lea, of Hattiesburg; his daughter, CandaceCampbell and husband Chuck, of Purvis; his sisters, DonaldYarborough, Martha Jackson and Elouise Campbell, all of Summit; 10grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
