Dinnie Franklin Lambert

A memorial service is planned at a future date for DinnieFranklin Lambert, of Monticello. Wilson Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.

Mr. Lambert, 74, died July 6, 2008, at Regency Hospital inJackson. He was born on Oct. 20, 1933, to Dinnie Franklin LambertSr. and Hattie Beulah Hedgepeth Lambert.

Mr. Lambert, having earned a Bachelor of Science degree inforestry and wildlife and a master’s degree in forestry, went on toretire after 31 years with the U.S. Forest Service, in which heworked in the following places: Kisatchie National Forest, AtomicEnergy Commission, Cherokee National Forest, Ocala National Forest,George Washington National Forest and Homochitto National Forest.He also served as a congressional liaison six years at GeorgeWashington National Forest.

He was a member of the U.S. Forest Service National TrainingTeam in Enviromental Education; receiving 12 awards for superiorservice of achievement. He also was certified meeting planner,designer and director. Mr. Lambert served in the Air Force duringpeacetime and on honorable discharge was of the rank of secondlieutenant. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Orderof Elk.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Rose MaryBillodeau Lambert; and his son, Dinnie Franklin Lambert III.

Survivors are his son, Nevin S. Lambert and wife, Karen, ofBridgewater, Va.; a brother, Donnie Lambert and wife, Cherry, ofBrandon; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Rachel Hill, ofBridgewater.
