Services for Sarah Jewel Allred, of Bogue Chitto, were 11 a.m.Wednesday, July 9, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in BogueChitto.

Mrs. Allred, 84, died July 7, 2008, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on May 4, 1924, to Charles Greer and LulaAlbritton Greer.

She was a homemaker and personal sitter. She was a member ofPleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of the SpecialLadies of the Widows Women Club of Pleasant Hill.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, WilliamB. “Bill” Allred.

Survivors are her son, Keith Allred, of Bogue Chitto; herspecial caretakers, Margie Williams, Glendean Harris and PeggyLewis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Elbert Allwyn ‘Sticks’ Kuyrkendall

Services for Elbert Allwyn “Sticks” Kuyrkendall, of Magnolia andTampa, Fla., are 1 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Hartman-Sharkey FuneralHome Chapel in McComb with burial in Magnolia Cemetery in Magnolia.The Rev. Willie Westmoreland will officiate.

Visitation is Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Kuyrkendall, 70, died July 2, 2008, at his residence inTampa. He was born in Magnolia on May 26, 1938, to Ray Lee andCarrie Pezant Kuyrkendall.

He was a star athlete in football, baseball and basketball atMagnolia High School, where he was voted cutest boy, most athleticand Mr. MHS. He graduated from Mississippi State University with adegree in business. He was a mortgage banker most of hisprofessional career and retired from Union Planters Bank.

Survivors are his son, Jeff Kuyrkendall, of Tampa, Fla.; adaughter, Denise Smith, of Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, RogerKuyrkendall, of Laurel; his sisters, Patsy Packer, of Clinton, andShirley Nabors, of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, HazelKuyrkendall, of Brandon; his two grandchildren, Dylan Smith andMeghan Smith, of Baton Rouge; his great-grandchild, Blaise Carter,of Baton Rouge; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Randy Kuyrkendall, Jason Spears, J.C.Passman, Eddie Daix, Ronald Simmons and Bryan Harris. Honorarypallbearers are Eldridge Boyd, Robert Duncan and Cecil Packer.
