Services for Miriam Tinnin Coleman, of Mendenhall, are 10 a.m.Tuesday, Aug. 5, at First Baptist Church in Mendenhall with burialin Mendenhall City Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Colonial ChapelFuneral Home in Mendenhall.

Mrs. Coleman, 80, went to her eternal home to be with her Savior onAug. 2, 2008, at Magee General Hospital. She was born on March 16,1928, to Eddie Earl Tinnin and Lucille Hopgood Tinnin.

She was the best mother and friend anyone could have. She was therock of the Coleman family. Everyone turned to her and leaned onher strong stature. She may have been small in size, but she wasour rock. She was a member of First Baptist Church ofMendenhall.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 35 yearsand father of her children, James Harold Coleman; and two brothers,Charles and Bill Tinnin.

Survivors are her husband, Dewey Cooper, of Mendenhall; her twodaughters, Diane Magee and husband, Butch, of D’Lo, and DeniseBlackwell and husband, Vic, of Florence; a son, Don Coleman andwife, Teresa, of Brookhaven; a sister, Bobbie Simmons, of Meridian;her five grandchildren, Greg Magee and wife, Donna, of D’Lo, ToshaCraft and husband, David, of Mendenhall, Brittany Rushing andhusband, Will, of Flowood, Carmen Bradshaw and husband, Smokey, ofBrandon, and Preston Blackwell, of Florence; and fourgreat-grandchildren, Will and Hayden Craft, of Mendenhall, andNicole and Jessie Magee, of D’Lo.
