Wilford ‘Donnie’ McGuffee

Services for Wilford “Donnie” McGuffee, of Monticello, were 11a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Antioch Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. McGuffee, 72, died Aug. 5, 2008, at his residence. He wasborn in Lawrence County on April 20, 1936, to Walter B. McGuffeeand Eloise Offett.

He was a disabled oilfield worker. He was a member of AntiochBaptist Church. He served in the National Guard.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his two wives, LyndaAllen and Betty Pennington; a sister, Jewell Kellogg; a brother,Billy McGuffee and a granddaughter, Amy Lynn McGuffee.

Survivors are his sons, Greg McGuffee and wife, Neosha, RickyMcGuffee and wife, Sherry, Gary McGuffee and wife, Michelle, all ofMonticello; a daughter, Kathy King, of Monticello; his stepsons,Perry Pennington, of Brookhaven, and Danny Paul Pennington, ofMonticello; a stepdaughter, Sassy Smith, of Oakvale; his ninegrandchildren; his two great-grandchildren and agreat-great-grandchild due in September.
