Ole Brook girls over Mendenhall

MENDENHALL – The Brookhaven Lady Panthers came back to take an11-6 slowpitch softball division win over the Mendenhall LadyTigers Thursday night.
Brookhaven, coached by Lisa Covington, improved to 1-2 with thewin.
“We hit the ball well,” said Covington. “We played reallyhard.”
Brianna Ashmore was the winning pitcher and singled 3 times forthe Panthers. Erica Bardwell doubled and singled. Karlee Martin,Sabrina Delaughter, Madeline Delaughter and Brook Hosick drilled 2singles apiece.
Hitting safely for Brookhaven were Hannah Lowman, Sarah Ayersand Brittany Bateman.
Junior varsity action
Ole Brookhaven slipped past Mendenhall 8-7.
The winning hurler was Hosick.
At the plate, the Panthers were led by Erica Lenoir with 2singles. Shelby Case and Emily Freeman singled.
Brookhaven travels to Bogue Chitto Monday for two games. The JVgame begins at 5 followed by the varsity at 6.
