Sandra Beard Rachel, 48, of the Pricedale community, died Aug.15, 2008, at the University Medical Center in Jackson. She was bornon Feb. 22, 1960 in Port Sulphur, La., to Von Beard and Joann Y.Beard of Jayess.

Ms. Beard was a loving mother and cared deeply for all of herfamily members, church family and friends. Her wit and humorinspired all who knew her and she will always be remembered by herbeautiful smile. She was a faithful member of Union PrimitiveBaptist Church and attended regularly when her health permitted.She was a graduate of North Pike High School and attended SouthwestMississippi Community College.

She was preceded in death by her father and her sister-in-law,Paula B. Beard.

Survivors include her mother; her son and daughter-in-law, DavidEarl and Holly Smith Rachel, of Pricedale; her stepdaughter, TinaHolland and husband, Chester, of Opp, Ala.; her brothers andsisters-in-law, Julius R. and Debbie Beard, of Bossier City, La.,and Gary L. and Tammy B. Beard, of McComb; her sister andbrother-in-law, Donis and James Wallace, of Summit; her grandson,Ethan Holland, of Opp; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; andthree very special friends, Sherri, Alice and Angela.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. until the timeof the service at 1:30 p.m. at Union Primitive Baptist Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Elders Luke Laird, WayneMyers and Randy Myers will officiate. Pallbearers will be thedeacons of the church. Jones Family Funeral Services is in chargeof arrangements.
