Services for Thomas R. Vanderslice, of Ellisville, are 10 a.m.Wednesday, Aug. 20, at First Assembly of God Church in Ellisvillewith burial in Ellisville City Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Ellisville FuneralHome.

Mr. Vanderslice died Aug. 17, 2008, after a lengthy illness.

He was retired from the Jones County Sheriffs Department. Heenjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Mr.Vanderslice was also a family man.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Jessie Rinon and VernaBoutwell Vanderslice; his stepfather, Callie Davenport; a sister,Jessie Mae Blackwell and a brother, Austin Vanderslice.

Survivors are his wife, Melba Jean Vanderslice; his three sons,Tony Lamar Vanderslice, of Ocean Springs, Gary Wayne Vanderslice,of Brookhaven, and Timothy Ray Vanderslice, of McComb; a brother,Calley Lee Davenport, of Moselle; his two sisters, Pearlean Smithand Elmer Ruth Brady, both of Ellisville; his nine grandchildren;his three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews andfriends.
