John C. Adams Sr.

Services for John C. Adams Sr., of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Sept. 6, at Jericho Church of Christ in Wesson withburial in New Hope Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at Williams Mortuary inBrookhaven and Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Adams, 71, died Aug. 29, 2008, at Haven Hall Health Centerin Brookhaven. He was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 1, 1937, toHarvey Adams Jr. and Rosetta Jackson Adams.

He was a retired. He attended Progress High School. He was amember of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Mable SimsAdams; his children, Dennis Adams and Barbara Adams; and his 11siblings.

Survivors are his children, John C. Adams Jr. and wife, Tina,Helen Dunston and husband, Tony, Patricia Vance and husband,Leonard, all of Westmont, Ill., Sherry Sims and Kimberly Adams,both of Minneapolis, Minn.; his stepchildren, Harry Sims, TyroneSims, Dana Kelly, Virginia Kelly, Antoinette Deyol, all ofMinneapolis, and Anthony Sims, of Kansas City, Kan.; his brothers,Jessie V. Adams and wife, Jessie Mae, of Lansing, Mich., SherleyAdams and wife, Dorethen, and Grandberry Adams and wife, Margaret,all of Brookhaven; his aunts, Gertrude Hill, of Brookhaven, andChristina Tucker, of Chicago; his 10 grandchildren; and his manystep-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services for Nolen “Tunk” L. Green, of Bude, are 1 p.m. Sunday,Sept. 7, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Kirby with burial in HigdonCemetery in Roxie.

Visitation is Saturday from 1 until 7 p.m. at R.E. Tyler FuneralHome in Brookhaven with family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Miss Green, 49, died Sept. 2, 2008, at River Oaks Hospital inFlowood. She was born in Franklin County on Jan. 11, 1959, to NolanBooker and Flossie Covington.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Little Rock A.M.E.Church in Bude.

Preceding her in death was her father.

Survivors are her mother, Flossie Covington, of Bude; herdaughters, Nancy Green and Tangy Nikia Green, both of Bude; abrother, Julius Robinson, of Meadville; and a sister, NancyRobinson, of Bude.
