Charles Edward Bowman

Services for Charles Edward Bowman, of Laurel, are 10 a.m.Thursday, Sept. 18, at Ellisville Funeral Home with burial in theChurch of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Red Star Ward Cemeteryin Loyd Star.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Bowman, 80, died Sept. 15, 2008, at South Central RegionalMedical Center in Laurel. He was born on May 23, 1928, to WilmerBowman and Luna Anding.

He was a retired butcher. He was a member of Church of JesusChrist of Latter-day Saints.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Lora Pritchett Bowman; a son, MichaelBowman, of Hattiesburg; a daughter, Mary Anne Grover, of Oak Grove;a brother, Harold Bowman, of Brookhaven; and his fivegrandchildren.

Nadie Lou Anderson Edge

Nadie Lou Anderson Edge, 89, beloved servant of her Lord andSavior Jesus Christ, departed this world on Sept. 15, 2008, at theArbor in Ridgeland. She was born May 20, 1919, to Louis AndreasAnderson and Mary Elizabeth Collom Anderson. She was a lovedmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law andmother-in-law.

Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven will be handlingarrangements. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, from 10until 11 a.m., with the service to follow at 11 a.m. and burial atRiverwood Memorial Park in Brookhaven.

Born in New Boston, Texas, she moved with her parents at the ageof four to the oil fields of Norphlet, Ark., where her father foundwork. There she met the love of her life and they married afterWorld War II. They moved to Brookhaven in 1946, where her husbandfound work and she bore and reared two sons. She was a member ofFirst Baptist Church of Brookhaven for more than 60 years,faithfully supporting its ministries and working in Sunday schoolwith the G.A.’s and youth. She was a 25-year veteran of Sears and amember of the Order of Eastern Star. She was an Order of DeMolayChapter Mom and a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Edward Edge; ason, Lawrence Edward Edge; a grandson, Anthony Edward Edge; herparents; her brothers, Odis L. Anderson and Everett M. Anderson;and her sister, Lela Lois Anderson.

Survivors include a son, Wenstrom Everett Edge and wife, Susan,of Vaughan; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Edge, of Clute, Texas; asister-in-law, Mrs. R. G. Calaway, of Victoria, Texas; agranddaughter, Emily Edge Carney and husband, David, of Madison;her grandsons, David Lawrence Edge and wife, Heather, of Vaughan,and Stephen Vaughan Edge, of Asheville, N.C.; and Joseph LloydHarvey Edge, of Alvin, Texas; and her four great-grandchildren,Abigail Ann Edge, Lily Kaitlyn Edge, Sarah Catherine Carney andNoah Vaughan Edge.

Carrie Mae Bell Fletcher

Services for Carrie Mae Bell Fletcher, of Mobile, Ala., are 11a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Metropolitan A.M.E. Church in Mobile withburial in Lawn Haven Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 4 until 6 p.m. at Johnson-AllenMortuary in Mobile and Friday from 9 until 11 a.m. at thechurch.

Mrs. Fletcher died Sept. 11, 2008, at a Mobile hospital. She wasa native of Brookhaven.

She was employed with Mobile Community Action Head Start for 28years. She was a member of Metropolitan A.M.E. Church, where shewas a choir member, Board of Daughters of Metropolitan member, andinvolved with the Van Ministry.

Preceding her in death were her parents; Moses Bell Sr. andAnnie Cotton Bell; and a daughter, Stwanda Ann Fletcher-Carson.

Survivors are her husband, Willie Fletcher Sr.; her daughters,Deborah Crusoe, of Riverdale, Ga., and Romona Fletcher, of Mobile;her sons, Michael Fletcher and Willie Fletcher Jr., both of Mobile;her sisters, Mary Lee Hines, of Louisville, Ky., and PatriciaChisom, of Milwaukee, Wis.; her brothers, Moses Bell Jr. andCharles Bell, both of Brookhaven; and numerous grandchildren,great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws andfriends.

Patricia Turner

Services for Patricia Turner, formerly of Brookhaven and of St.Tammany Parish, La., are 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at E.J.Fielding Funeral Home Inc. Chapel in Covington, La., with burial inPinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at thefuneral home.

Mrs. Turner, 60, died Sept. 16, 2008, after losing her battlewith cancer. She was born in Brookhaven to Lowrey and AudreyRedd.

She dedicated her life to serving others as a hospice nurse.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and a daughter, MelisaAnn Richardson.

Survivors are her sons, Jimmy Richardson and wife, Tammy, ofAbita Springs, La., and Ron Richardson and wife, Julie, of Moody,Ala.; a daughter, Melanie Ragsdale and husband, Anthony, ofRagland, Ala.; her five grandchildren, Krystal Rains and husband,James, Jordan Dale, Lindsey Richardson, Shelby Richardson andHannah Rose Ragsdale; and a great-grandchild, Jaymie Rains.
