Virgie Mae Harper
Memorial services for Virgie Mae Harper, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at St. James M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in Greenlawn Cemetery in Los Angeles, Calif. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harper, 75, died Oct. 6, 2008, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 9,1933, to Emanuel Goodwin and Maebelle Goodwin.
She was retired. She was a member of St. James M.B. Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband,George Smith; her second husband, James L. Harper; and her twobrothers.
Survivors are her daughters, Alice Smith, of Brookhaven,Beatrice Smith, Gloria Beason, Mary Smith and Katherine Smith, allof Los Angeles; her sons, Claude Smith, Bobby Smith and DewayneSmith, all of Los Angeles; her sisters, Lillie Mae Henley, ofBrookhaven, Margie Aggert and Allean Williams, both of Los Angeles;a brother, Robert Goodwin, of Los Angeles; and her 13grandchildren.
James Weathersby
Memorial services for James Weathersby, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Lake Lincoln State Park in Wesson. TylerFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Weathersby, 63, died Oct. 13, 2008, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on July 4, 1945, to Theophas Harvey andMerdrew Rhodes.
He was a former mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army. He was amember of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Brookhaven.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his stepmother,Priscilla Harvey; his stepfather, Houston Weathersby; a brother,R.L. Weathersby; and a sister, Marie Rhodes.
Survivors are his wife, Anna Gayten Weathersby, of Brookhaven;his sons, Stormie Weathersby and wife, Trece, Marcus Weathersby,all of Brookhaven, and Will J. Weathersby and wife, Belinda, ofLeakesville; his daughters, Sharon Weathersby and husband, John,Cloronda Weathersby and husband, Brandon, Kelly Smith and SymikoOwens, all of Brookhaven; his stepdaughters, Talasha Owens, ofBogue Chitto, and Nakenya Owens, of Brookhaven; his brothers, LarryWeathersby, of Chicago, Ill., Houston Weathersby, of Hattiesburg,Michael Collins, of Brookhaven, and Tommy Campbell, of Wesson; hissisters, Bessie Weathersby, of Missouri, Merlee Campbell andhusband, Donald, of Brookhaven, Mary Adams, of Chicago, and LouiseAdams, of Arizona; his 19 grandchildren; and his fivegreat-grandchildren.
