Ruby Lee Lowe Moak

Ruby Lee Lowe Moak, 89, a longtime resident of Summit, died Oct.28, 2008 at Shady Oaks Home in Brookhaven. She was the daughter ofWilliam Willis Lowe and Anna Maude West Lowe. She was born April 9,1919 in Bogalusa, La. and moved to McComb with her family in1930.

She graduated from Jones High School in 1938. Her many talentsincluded being an accomplished seamstress, wife, mother and lovingfriend. She attended church at Montgomery Baptist Church and alsoMoak’s Creek Baptist Church. While at Montgomery Baptist Church,she was active in the Women’s Missionary Union serving as presidentfor many years. She also served as longtime Sunday schoolteacher.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband,Carey Winefred Moak Sr.; and a grandson, Paul Robert ForsythJr.

She is survived by one son, Carey W. Moak Jr., of Summit; onedaughter and son-in-law, Cinda Moak-Forsyth and Paul R. ForsythSr., of Crete, Ill.; two grandchildren, Dwayne Moak and FeleciaForsyth Scanlan; two great-grandchildren, Ellen Lane Forsyth andRachel Michelle Scanlan; and many friends and neighbors.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. atHartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb and Friday from 10 a.m.until services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. David Millicanofficiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Elliott Moak, Millard Moak, Hulon Wallace,Bruce Moak, Eugene Moak and George Bryan.
