Joshua Mark Golmon

Joshua Mark Golmon, 22, of St. Francisville, La., and formerlyof Smithdale, was killed on Nov. 11, 2008 in a tragic log-truckaccident.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 14, from 4 until 9 p.m. at JonesFamily Funeral Services in McComb with visitation again on Saturdayfrom 10 until services at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at theFirst Pentecostal Church in McComb on Highway 98. The Rev. TerryBallard, the Rev. Eldridge Anselmi and the Rev. G.R. Travis willofficiate.

Josh was born May 21, 1986, in McComb to Mark and Anita KeeneGolmon.

He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church inMcComb. He was a 2004 honor graduate of West Lincoln AttendanceCenter. He attended Southwest Mississippi Community College, wherehe served as the “Pine Burr”editor. He was employed by AtlanticScaffolding Co. in Garyville, La.

Josh met and married, the love of his life, Kara ManchesterGolmon of Jackson, La.. To this union was born Madilyn BrookeGolmon, 10 months old. Josh loved to dress little Madilyn and wouldbrag, “I may not have lunch money, but she sure is beautiful in hernew outfit.” He took her latest outfit off a mannequin Friday andproudly showed her off at church Sunday. He was so dedicated to hisfamily and will be missed by all that knew him. His grandmother,Keene, made the statement that “God truly has a jewel now.”

Josh never met a stranger and always greeted every one with asmile. Little Madilyn will carry on that smile and Josh willcontinue to live on through his gift of life since he was an organdonor.

Josh was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents,Lonnie and Jessie Edmonds and Estess and Minnie Keene; his paternalgreat-grandparents, Richard and Ida Reeves and Nora Golmon.

Survivors include his wife, Kara; a daughter, Madilyn; hisparents, Mark and Anita Keene Golmon, of Smithdale; his twobrothers, Jacob and Morgan Golmon, of Smithdale; his in-laws, Mikeand Katina Manchester, of Jackson, La.; his maternal grandparents;Nelson and Charlsie Ann Keene, of Summit; his paternalgrandparents, Buford and Dean Golmon, of Smithdale, and EmelineHubert, of McComb; his uncles and aunts, Victor and Sandra Keene,of Summit, Ronnie and Sheila Keene, of Magnolia, Michael and AmyKeene, of Laurel, Eldridge and Ann Sharp, of Covington, La., andJim and Renee Williams, of Ethel, La. along with numerouscousins.
