Services for Charles Franklin Twiner, of Hazlehurst, were 11a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at New Providence Baptist Church inHazlehurst with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Twiner, 73, died Nov. 11, 2008, at Pine Crest Guest Home. Hewas born in Allen on Nov. 9, 1935, to Joe Hardy Twiner and Ivy NoraTwiner.

He retired from Wal-Mart’s sporting goods department and wasalso a Wal-Mart greeter. He retired after spending 21 years in theU.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of New Providence BaptistChurch, where he served as a deacon and also as head deacon.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a son, ChristopherDean Twiner.

Survivors are his wife, Ann Doyle Twiner, of Hazlehurst; hissons, Darrel Twiner and Scott Twiner; a brother, Jacob Twiner; hissisters, Ivy Jo Moore and Virgie Ray O’dom; and threegrandchildren.
