Services for Lloyd Breaux, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Wednesday,Nov. 19, at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burialin Holly Springs Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m. at thechurch.

Mr. Breaux, 83, died after a lengthy illness on Nov. 14, 2008,at his residence. He was born in Abbeville, La., on Feb. 14, 1925,to Arte Breaux and Olita Peltier Breaux.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Jan. 19, 1944, and served duringWorld War II. Mr. Breaux received an honorable discharge on Feb.25, 1946. After spending two years in the Navy, he then started hiscareer in the oilfield. He retired in 1990. Mr. Breaux was also anavid golfer with a handicap of eight. He won many trophies pursuingthe sport he loved the best.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Sidney,Lufield and Dewey; his sisters, Eunice, Eula, Aline and Dorothy;and a grandchild, Joshua Ives.

Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Sara Emma Franklin Breaux,of Brookhaven; his daughters, Sharon Ives, of Houston, Texas, andSandra Breaux, of Brookhaven; his sisters, Velta Tyler, ofFranklin, La., and Genevieve Campisi, of Abbeville.
