Services for the Rev. Robert Hamlin Carr, of Union Church, are11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in CopiahCounty with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive.

Mr. Carr, 84, died Nov. 18, 2008, at his residence. He was bornin Normal, Ill., on Oct. 6, 1924, to Lester Hamlin Carr and HazelAlene Dobbs Carr.

He was a Mississippi College graduate. The Rev. Carr was aretired minister. He served as pastor at Lake Stanley Mission inFlorida, Oak Grove Baptist Church in Yazoo City, Little BahalaBaptist Church in Lincoln County and Union Church Baptist Church inJefferson County and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Copiah County.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. The Rev. Carr wasan avid golfer. He was also a member of Pleasant Hill BaptistChurch in Copiah County.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Colleen B. Carr, of Union Church; hissons, Steve Carr and wife, Gale, of Thaxton, and the Rev. Mike Carrand wife, Donna, of Philadelphia; a daughter, Toni McCoy andhusband, Richard, of Pace, Fla.; a brother, Richard “Dick” Carr andwife, Mitzi, of Hudson, Ill.; his sisters, Barbara Peek andhusband, Vernon, and Jackie Murrell and husband, Tom, both ofBloomington, Ill.; his nine grandchildren; and his fourgreat-grandchildren.
