A graveside service for Willie “Bernice” Norton, of Brookhaven,are 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at New Hope Methodist Cemetery inBrookhaven.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Harrigill FuneralHome and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at New HopeMethodist Church.

Miss Norton, 93, died Nov. 16, 2008, at Silver Cross Home inBrookhaven. She was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 14, 1915, toWilliam Rufus Norton and Roberta Smith Norton.

She was owner of Norton’s Grocery in Loyd Star and retired fromSkill Craft Industry, a workplace for the blind in Hazlehurst, as asupervisor. She was a member of New Hope Methodist Church. MissNorton was an accomplished pianist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her two brothers,Andrew Bryan Norton Sr. and Bennie Wilson Norton; and a sister,Bessie Mae Norton Stancil.

Survivors are her two nephews, Jack Combs, of Brookhaven, andWilliam Robert “Bill” Norton, of Brandon.
