Mildred ‘Blondie’ Scoggins

Services for Mildred “Blondie” Scoggins, of Monticello, are 11a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burialin New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Scoggins, 85, died Nov. 24, 2008, at Lawrence CountyHospital in Monticello. She was born on April 8, 1923, to LynnSmith and Corelia Dickerson Smith.

She was a retired retail clerk from the former Jerry’s Shop inMonticello. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WilliamTroy Scoggins; her four brothers, Henry, Buddy, Vernon and EdgarSmith; and a sister, Charlean Carr.

Survivors are her a son, William Troy Scoggins III, of Star; adaughter, Shirley J. Fredette, of Monticello; her sisters, LizzieFarmer and Francis King, both of Monticello; her sevengrandchildren; and her 19 great-grandchildren.
