Services for the Rev. Earnest William Marshall, of Bude andformerly of Natchez, are 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at PilgrimBaptist Church in Natchez with burial in the Natchez NationalCemetery on Monday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. Marshall Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday with family present from 7 until 9 p.m. atEmmanuel Church of God in Christ in Natchez and Saturday from noonuntil 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church.

The Rev. Marshall, 89, died Nov. 27, 2008, at G.V. (Sonny)Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in ChoctawCounty on July 4, 1919, to Everett Marshall and Bessie MarshallJohnson.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Dillie GunnMarshall; his three grandsons, Darrell Wesco Jr., Alvin Marshalland Anthony Louis Marshall II; a sister, Sallie B. Patterson; and abrother, Herman Marshall.

Survivors are his daughters, Joyce Wesco, of West Palm Beach,Fla., Bessie Pinckney, of Vidalia, La., Earnestina Hunt, of LosAngeles, Calif., and Jeannette Rice, of Natchez; his sons, the Rev.George Marshall Sr., of Natchez, Bobby Marshall, of Houston, Texas,Terry Marshall, of Houston; Everett Marshall, of Bude, and AnthonyMarshall, of Biloxi; his sisters, Muzzett Smith, of Milwaukee,Wis., Mary “Minnie Bell” Young and Inell Lyles, both of Natchez;his 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
