Jeptha B. ‘J.B.’ Britt

Services for Jeptha B. “J.B.” Britt, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome on North Jackson Street.

Mr. Britt, 80, died Dec. 13, 2008, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on May 12, 1928 to Eugene Britt and Ethel JacksonBritt.

He was a bricklayer. He was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife of 58years, Henrietta Smith Britt.

Survivors are his sons, George Stephen Britt and wife, Phyllis,of Jackson, Bruce Britt and wife, René, of Brookhaven, and DanielBritt, of Brookhaven; a daughter, Pam Jackson, of Crystal Springs;his 10 grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren.

James McDaniel

Memorial services for James McDaniel, of Metairie, La., were 2p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Carmel Baptist Church. Wilson FuneralHome was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McDaniel, 64, died Dec. 10, 2008, at a King’s DaughtersMedical Center in Brookhaven. He was born on Dec. 31, 1943, toMelvin T. McDaniel and Lucille Hearn McDaniel.

He was a retired welder from Air Craft International in NewOrleans, La. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, ThomasMcDaniel.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Ann Riche McDaniel; his son, ShawnMcDaniel, of Metairie; his daughter, Kimberly Seymour, of Asheboro,N.C.; his brothers, Larry McDaniel and Billy Lynn McDaniel, both ofMonticello; and five grandchildren.

Alfred Motley

Services for Alfred Motley, of Beauregard, are 2 p.m. Wednesday,Dec. 17, at St. Peter Rock M.B. Church in Wesson with burial in thechurch cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Motley, 69, died Dec. 12, 2008, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on April 4, 1939, to Clarence Motley andLeander Woods Motley.

He was a graduate of Friendship High School. He was disabled.Mr. Motley was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of St. PeterRock M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, WilliamNeedom; and his sisters, Clara Bethune and Lea Ora Alexander.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Butler Motley, of Beauregard; ason, Alfred T. Motley and wife, Jackie, of Beauregard; anddaughter, Greta Anita Mathis and husband, Terence, of Brookhaven; abrother, Robert E. Motley, of Brookhaven; a sister, Birdean Miller,of Brookhaven; his five grandchildren; and a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and very close friends.

Ernest Alvin Rhodes

Services for Ernest Alvin Rhodes, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.Monday, Dec. 15, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Rhodes, 87, died Dec. 13, 2008, at The University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on Oct. 7, 1921,to Luther Rhodes and Hallie Bowie Rhodes.

He was a retired truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran ofWorld War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Margie Rhodes, of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Nan Bridges, of Brookhaven; his brother, Dan Rhodes, ofLafayette, La.; his sister, Edna Winkler, of McCool; and hisgrandchildren, Jason Bridges, of Brookhaven, Jennifer Bridges, ofBaker, La., and Jeremy Bridges and wife, Circe, of Baton Rouge,La.
